GLOBAL EYE GLASSES: Professional Thieves!

Don't deal with this company and Erica Gonzales, their customer service rep. They made the glasses wrong...then claimed they couldn't do the bifocals as we had requested...and then promised a REFUND. 27 emails, eight weeks, numerous phone calls, and "check is in the mail" promises...but..they have done nothing...other than sending a few apolgetic type (we are checking on it) emails. They are liars and thieves!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! DO NOT< NOT< SEND or GIVE THEM A CENT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! DO NOT...DO NOT EVER DO BUSINESS WITH THIS COMPANY!!! Again, they are thieves, and REFUSE to stand by their product!

GlobalEyeGlasses.com: Worst product and customer service

I ordered 2 pair of glasses from them on March 13th and both of them turned out to be defective. I talked to the customer support and returned one pair to be fixed. I paid the return shipping even though it was not my fault. I talked to customer support again and they said that they have shipped the glasses. I waited for over a month but no glasses. I called them again and they told me that they have not shipped it yet. Extremely poor product and customer service. Stay away from this company. I filed a complaint with Better Business Bureau as well.

Global eyeglasses - don't keep their promises

Global eyeglasses got my order wrong - they made my computer glasses photochromic while my regular prescription for outside ( that should have got darker in sunlight) was plain. They tried to rectify the mistake but got it wrong again. Finally they said they would send correct lenses that I would have to have fitted. I agreed to this but they called at 6:00am (not very convenient or customer friendly) to renege on that promise. They said to return the glasses for a refund. I had to argue to get them to agree to pay the return postage, which they did and got them to put that in writing, which they did. I sent the glasses back but had to really chase them up three times to finally get the refund. They finally refunded the glasses price in US currency - a lower value than the Canadian currency I had paid with. So I have a reduced refund but no postage refund - they have promised at least 4 times that they are sending the refund, but it never appears. Don't rely on Global eyeglasses to get you order correct or to refund your money if they get it wrong. Globaleyeglasses dont keep their promises.

I ordered glasses here and from "coastalcontacts.com" on the same day both with standard shipping. The coastal pair arrived today, 4bus days later, while the global pair status still says "Making Lenses". I am having my doubts about this site...

I ordered from Globaleyeglasses on 4-30 and it is 5-19-11 now. I try to call there customer service and can never reach anyone.

Email and live chat are fruitless too.

Funny thing is in my dispute I filed with Paypal it shows a tracking number ut there is no movement since it was generated on 5-8-11. NEVER AGAIN!!!

I got this ray-ban from here after shopping all over San Diego. It's about half the price compared to getting it at a shopping mall.

Also, I received this ray-ban in about 3 days sent directly from New York to San Diego. I was shocked how fast the service was, and the shipping was free too.

Also, the ray-ban has the tilt that only the legit ray-ban wayfarer has. Totally satisfied.

The day after posting this complaint I finally received my postage refund. It was in US dollars so a little less than I paid due to the current exchange rate with Canadian dollars but what the heck... :)

Globaleyeglasses

I just wanted to confirm that GlobalEyeglasses.com finally sent my postage refund to PayPal (see my previous complaint about Globaleyeglasses not keeping their promises). Sure it was in US rather than Canadian funds (so I ended up getting back a little less than I paid due to the exchange rate) but what the hay. Overall I think their glasses are pretty good value and, if there had been no mistake made with the initial order, I think I would have been a satisfied customer. In the end they did refund my money (or most of it) but it was not a good experience having to keep contacting them, getting a satisfactory response and then having them go back on their promise or not fulfilling it without further contact from me. If you are going to give a refund - give it gracefully and quickly so that customers feel like coming back!

I got a few pair of anti fog glasses and they're pretty good since they fit easily for me and my two kids. The only thing which i am not happy is that they kinda disappear on the benchtop being all clear. They are quite inexpensive as well.

Great that they refud you so easily, I have seen many company didn't even care for the complain in this forum and customer cna not do anything.. So you should be happy now that they listen your voice & refund you.. :)

I bought two pairs of prescription glasses from globaleyeglasses.com and never recieved a confromation email, or anything. It's frustrating since I asked them about it and they gave me a fake tracking number.

I have too bought 2 pair of sunglasses last month from Globaleyeglasses.com. There was dely in delivery by courier service but ultimately I got my sunglasses and I was very happy to found such a nice pair of glasses at such a low price. I will recommend others to atleast check their portfolio.

Global Eyeglasses Customer Service Unresponsive

Upon receipt of two pairs of eyeglasses from Globaleyeglasses.com, we had some questions, as the glasses appeared to need some adjustment. We called their customer service number, but found the representative very confused. She was so confused, in fact, that at one point, we found ourselves talking to another customer! Talk about crossed lines. Our email about the problem never received a response. Repeated calls to customer service were useless. We were promised that someone would contact us, but after two weeks, no contact. We raised a dispute on PayPal, but Globaleyeglasses refused the dispute. PayPal only gets involved with delivery issues, so they have not been much help in resolving the problem. Lesson learned. Even if a seller posts a money-back guarantee, you need to get their attention first, before you can even discuss a return or refund. If you can not reach them, well, I guess they think they're off the hook. Originally, we did not think about returning these items, but after the terrible customer service experience. I want nothing to do this this outfit. Buyer beware.

Going on three weeks since I made the order. "customer service" says there is a minor problem with the process, but could not elaborate.

When I mentioned that was the same excuse they gave last week, they hung up.

I can't rate the quality of the product since I don't have them. Emails go unanswered for at least a week, then do not address the problem.

I have gone thru GEG for about 5 years now and I have never been dissatisfied. I have always received my order exactly as ordered, always get my order in the time frame stated and have always been very happy with them. As far as I am concerned, global eyeglasses.com has a lifelong customer here!!!!!!

Their 12 month guarantee is a joke. You have to call within 15 days to note the problem. Please stay away.

Global Eyeglass company is a joke. Ordered glasses in April 2011.

When they arrived they were without the bifocal. Had to pay the return postage, and then I was told I'd have to pay more to get them corrected. After 4 months of battling with them I still do not have a refund.

I'm out $33. AVOID THIS COMPANY AT ALL COSTS.

Could'nt agree more. GEG customer service is horrific.

They answer the phone on and off. If you send an e-mail, you'll be lucky to receive and answer. Do not trust the coupons they send you by email: they are bogus. Their site is interesting, but very buggy.

But their selection of frames and prices are very competitive, that's why they keep attracting customers. For the rest, buy at your own risks and do not expect to get any refund. Those guys used to operate from India or Pakistan.

They have moved their operation to Santa Monica Blvd in LA. But you can take them out of India, but you cannot take India out of them.

These glasses look good--better than most over-the-glasses types. Price is affordable, came on time.

Couldn't ask for more. I save about $150 on new prescription shades.

At the end of January 2011 the 'count down through the waiting list' on the phone and then get hung up on problem is still rampant. I tried 3x on the 27th January and that happened each time. The rep "Shaun" on the live chat claimed they were updating the phone system, as well as their website. If that were true there would be a notice on the website and on the recording of their phone system as to the problem.

My glasses both came with a bad right lense. All I wanted to do was to verify if it was the prescription they made the glasses from or an entry error of mine. The live chat rep wanted me to send in the original prescription via FAX, which I did.

The next morning I received two PayPal requests for payment for new glasses BUT no explanation of why!!! I also received a "Welcome" which got me to a forum page - blank with no instructions of how to use the forum and certainly nothing on my problem!

I called up, got thrown off their system 3x and then got a rep with the same name as the live chat rep. Not sure if it was the same person but he was obstinate and unwilling to answer my simple question. I wanted to know if they had received the fax. It turned out he was not even looking at the right order but by the time I was really getting angry he stated they did not have the fax - this is not likely true as SOMEONE sent me PayPal requests to send money for two new pairs of glasses to replace the ones I had.

Customer service was persistent in wanting to not answer questions and when I clearly started to become perturbed still would not do so. Finally, I became angry at being jerked around and, of course, the rep then had the excuse that I was angry and they did not have to deal with me. Another $54.00 likely down the drain. BTW, I was NOT able to tell the difference between the original prescription and what they allegedly ground from so I am still at sea (lacking any explanation from them) as to whether it was an error of theirs or mine. From the way I was treated and the missing fax, I think it was their error.

Bottom Line: DO NOT BUY from Global Eyeglasses online website. It is not worth the hassle.
